Clare will be without the services of Gerry Quinn for the next six weeks after the Corofin clubman had a knee ligament injury confirmed by tests yesterday.
The 26-year-old defender received the bad news yesterday when scans confirmed that he had suffered a medial ligament tear in his right knee.
Quinn sustained the injury during last Saturday's All-Ireland SHC qualifier win over Galway, limping off 16 minutes from time. Lining out at centre-back for the second successive week, he scored two points in the 2-10 to 0-14 victory in Ennis.
Quinn, who is Clare's vice-captain, has been ever-present for the Banner men in this year's championship, starting at left half-back in May's Munster SHC defeat to Cork.
Clare manager Tony Considine said Quinn would be "a massive loss" to his side. The Banner will be without Quinn for this Saturday's qualifier clash with Laois, their All-Ireland quarter-final and also a semi-final should Considine's outfit make the last-four.
