Kenny to face Dáil grilling on Roscommon

Opposition parties are expected to turn up the heat on the Taoiseach in the Dáil today over his pre-election promise to retain the A&E department at Roscommon County Hospital.

Opposition parties are expected to turn up the heat on the Taoiseach in the Dáil today over his pre-election promise to retain the A&E department at Roscommon County Hospital.

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin last night issued a fresh call on Enda Kenny to apologise for what he described as his "shambolic" handling of the issue.

Today he is expected to urge the Taoiseach to correct the record of the Dáil after Mr Kenny said last week that he had made no such promise.

Sinn Féin are also seeking to maintain pressure on the Taoiseach. They want Enda Kenny not just to apologise but to restore services to Roscommon hospital.
