Mayo TD Beverly Cooper-Flynn has begun giving evidence at the High Court in the libel case she is taking against RTE.
Ms Cooper-Flynn claims she was libelled by the station in a series of reports concerning her involvement in a financial investment scheme.
She said the reports implied that she implemented a scheme allowing clients to evade tax.
The jury is waiting to hear the 34-year-old's account of her time as a consultant with National Irish Bank from 1989 to 1997.
