Customs to prosecute garages over illegal fuel

Customs officials say they intend to prosecute a number of garages around the country for selling laundered fuel.

Customs officials say they intend to prosecute a number of garages around the country for selling laundered fuel.

It is estimated 70,000 litres of laundered diesel has been seized at garages in Leinster and Munster.

The black market is believed to be worth millions of euro a year to the criminal gangs behind the operations.
