A new eurozone survey on the price of cars shows the introduction of the single currency has not brought prices much closer together.
The European Commission report found that Britain and Germany are the most expensive places, while the cheapest markets are Spain, Greece, Denmark and Finland.
Price differences range from nearly 12% for a BMW to 41% for an Opel Vectra.
The increase ease of comparing prices across borders was supposed to help consumers by exposing the differing pricing strategies used by producers.
