A senior SDLP figure today insisted that there was still time for the British Government to get its policing reforms in the North right.

A senior SDLP figure today insisted that there was still time for the British Government to get its policing reforms in the North right.

Alban Maginness said more progress could be achieved in securing national support for police reforms.

He was speaking ahead of a meeting his party is due to have with Security Minister Adam Ingram at Stormont today.

The SDLP will discuss the reforms with the Chief Constable of the RUC, Sir Ronnie Flanagan, tomorrow.
