The Butlers Chocolate Experience

The perfect day out for chocolate lovers of all ages. On arrival, visitors will dress like a real-life Butlers chocolatier and gather to watch the chocolate movie, learning about the origins of the cocoa bean and the history of Butlers, accompanied by chocolate treats. With an expert guide, the budding chocolatiers will explore the interactive museum and step out on the Chocolate Gallery to see the Butlers factory.

Finally, everyone gets to unleash their inner chocolatier in the Chocolate Experience room and decorate their own chocolate masterpiece to bring home as a treasured souvenir.

Tír na nóg Children’s Festival

As with every year, Tralee is transforming into a kid’s wonderland for Easter weekend with an entire programme created with small people in mind. Think Easter craft workshops, egg hunts, puppet shows and Easter High Tea and you have the idea.

Easter At Dublinia

Discover your inner Viking at Dublinia this Easter by visiting VikingFest 2018. As well as the excellent theatrical performances at Dublinia, real life Viking ships will moor at Wood Quay for the weekend, while re-enactors will demonstrate Viking games.

Entry to Dublinia costs €6 per child and €9.50 per adult.

Easter At Lifetime Lab

As well as hosting amazing Lego-themed Easter camps during the school holidays, Cork’s Lifetime Lab is throwing a giant Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday. As well as the hunt, there’ll be face painting, make and do, balloon making, falconry and magic shows throughout the day.

Madhatter’s Tea Party

Go down the rabbit hole with the free Madhatter’s Tea Party taking place in Deerpark, Dublin on Easter Sunday. There’ll be an egg hunt of course, as well as lots of activities including a teacup ride, inflatable slides, face painting and loads more. To top it off your favourite Tea Party characters will also be there in their Easter finery including Alice, the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter.

Electric Zoo At Wells House & Gardens

The Easter Electric Zoo returns to Wells House & Gardens in Wexford this Easter Monday, where a zoo of life-size furry animals will be on hand to give hugs all day long, while a family barbecue takes place in the background. Should the weather fail to comply, there will be an indoor option on the day. The event is free, but there is a nominal entry fee per car to cover parking.

Eggstra Fun At Kilruddery

Killruddery House, just outside Bray in Co Wicklow is hosting special egg hunts for very small children this Easter weekend. With eggs stashed in plant pots and amongst flowers in the garden grounds of the house, this hunt takes 45 minutes and suits children up to the age of 4. Tickets are €12.50 per child, and €7.50 per adult and booking in advance is essential.

Barnardos Egg Hunt

Barnardos are partnering with Cadbury to deliver a supercharged, chocolate-fuelled egg hunt in Dublin’s Merrion Square this Easter weekend. If you have some sore losers in your family, you’ll be glad to know that in this hunt, everyone’s a winner and will get a delicious Cadbury Easter egg on completion of the Egg Hunt trail. Tickets €20 for a family of four or €5 per person, and all proceeds go to Barnardos - booking essential.

Greenan Maze

Greenan Maze in Wicklow is a hive of activity throughout the Easter holidays with treasure hunts and nature trails each day, a special fairy trail for the pre-schoolers and very special Easter egg hunts taking place in the maze on Easter Sunday and Monday. For those who tire of maze hunting, there’ll be face painters galore on hand to pep you up. Admission costs €10 per person and they advise booking your visit in advance.

Easter At Cork City Gaol

Cork City Gaol is truly embracing Easter this weekend by hiding Easter bunnies throughout the building.

Kids and their parents will be given a map on entry and asked to mark off where they find the bunnies – if you find all the bunnies you’ll win a small prize at the end. Entry to the gaol costs €5 per child and €8 per adult.

Holiday Fun At Bunratty Castle & Folk Park

There’s a brand new Easter schedule in place for Easter weekend at Bunratty, all created with small people in mind. Headlining each day are the Wobbly Circus and Mr Boom’s drum and percussion show. Other highlights at the park include a 52-foot crocodile obstacle course, jugglers, stilt walkers and balloon modelling. Entry to the park costs €11.50 per child and €16.95 per adult, with an early bird booking discount of €5.

Easter In The Phoenix Park

Take a stroll to look at the deer and pop to the excellent playground before heading to the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre on Easter Sunday, where they are hosting a very special puppet show by Moon and Sixpence Theatre Company. The show is suitable for all ages and is completely free of charge.

Tayto Park

Tayto Park have put together some egg-citing activities for the little ones this Easter.

Visit Tayto Park on Easter Sunday, April 1, for a crime scene investigators inspired event.

Mr Tayto is looking for help from some detective’s this Easter to help him solve the mystery of ‘Who stole the egg’? Mr Tayto knows it was of the animals in the zoo – but he doesn’t know which one.

Kids will follow a series of clues to solve the mystery and will be in with a chance to receive a reward. Tayto Parks Easter egg hunt will run from 10am-4pm and kids will collect a detective I.D sheet upon entry.
