Tired of drinking the same old cocktails?

With a change in seasons and chill in the air, chances are you’re looking for something with a bit more pizzazz to tantalise the taste buds.

These delicious concoctions will help perk up the palate…

1. Jawbox White Negroni

With 11 botanicals under its belt, including bold juniper, pine and a touch of sweet coriander, Jawbox Classic Dry Gin (€45, 70cl, Celtic Whiskey Shop & Wines on the Green), works extremely well in cocktails.

Switch out Campari for Suze Liqueur and you’ll get a lighter take on a negroni, to ease you into happy hour.

Ingredients: 50ml Jawbox Gin, 25ml Suze Liqueur, 25ml white vermouth, grapefruit twist for garnish.

Method: Half-fill a tumbler with ice. Add the ingredients, stir slowly and garnish with a twist.

2. Two Shores Old Fashioned

Distilled in Panama and finished in Irish whiskey casks on the west coast of Ireland, Two Shores Rum Single Malt (€60, 70cl, twoshoresrum.com), is a delicious slow sipper – and versatile enough to work like a dream in a rum old fashioned.

Ingredients: 60ml Two Shores Rum, 10ml sugar syrup, 3 dashes of Angostura Bitters, orange zest twist for garnish. Luxardo maraschino cherry optional.

Method: Half-fill a mixing glass with ice. Add the ingredients and stir until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube, express the oil of the orange twist, then drop into the glass to garnish.

3. Micil Inverin Highball

Ingredients: 35.5ml Micil Inverin Whiskey, 15ml lemon juice, 10ml honey and ginger syrup, soda water and lemon twist for garnish.

Method: Half-fill a highball with ice. Add the whiskey, lemon juice and syrup, stir slowly, top with soda and garnish with a twist. Sláinte!
