UPDATE: Mr O'Hare has been located tonight and is understood to be well, although he is receiving precautionary medical checks.

He was located in the Carrigtwohill area and emergency services who had been involved in the missing persons appeal were alerted.

Earlier: Gardai have asked for help tracing a 09-Audi car as part of their search for a missing person in Cork.

Philip O'Hare, 50, from Glounthane in Cork, was last seen at 11.30pm last night.

An assistant chief fire officer with Cork City Fire Brigade, Mr O'Hare is described as being 5' 10", with a thin build, grey hair and blue/green eyes.

It is not known what he was wearing when last seen.

But gardai say his car is also missing and they are anxious to trace its movements.

They have appealed for anyone who may have seen a grey Audi A4, registration number 09-C-40821 to contact them immediately.
