Two men arrested yesterday in connection with a robbery at a bank in Phibsborough in Dublin, have been charged.

Two men arrested yesterday in connection with a robbery at a bank in Phibsborough in Dublin, have been charged.

They are appearing before Dublin District court this morning.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, gardaí are continuing their investigations into an armed raid at a credit union in Portmarnock yesterday evening.

Two men, armed with a gun, threatened staff and stole cash at the credit union at around 5.30pm yesterday.

A number of shots were fired as gardaí tried to stop the men as they made their getaway in a hijacked car. No one was injured in the incident.

However during a follow-up search, gardaí recovered a car along with a quantity of cash and a handgun.

They arrested a man in his 20s, who is being held at Coolock garda station. The other man involved in the incident remains at large.
