Gossamer has won the Entenmann's Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh.

The daughter of Sadler's Wells, clearly relishing the testing conditions, cruised into contention a quarter of a mile for home.

Gossamer, the 4-1 favourite, won by four and a half lengths from Quarter Moon (9-2), the best of Aidan O'Brien's five runners, with O'Brien's Starbourne a length back in third.
