Gardaí have arrested three men in connection with an arson attack on a house in Limerick.

The body of convicted criminal Ger Curtin was found outside the property a week prior to the blaze.

The house at Sarsfield Avenue in Garryowen was extensively damaged in the fire on November 12th, and an adjoining property was damaged on November 18th.

Both properties were unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.

The body of Curtin (42), from Railway House, Spit Land, Old Cork Road, Limerick, was found outside the properties during the early hours of November 4th.

A man in his 40s is before the courts charged in connection with Curtin’s death. The accused faces one count of intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to Curtin on November 4th.

A Garda source confirmed three men have been arrested in connection with the arson attack on November 12th.

A statement from Gardaí added the men, all aged in their 30s, were detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
