Gardaí have arrested three men following a number of searches in the Portarlington area of Co Laois on Wednesday.
The searches were carried out as part of ongoing garda investigations into organised crime, drugs and firearms in the Midlands.

The three men have been arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and are currently being detained at Portlaoise, Tullamore and Birr garda stations.
Gardaí say investigations into the matter are ongoing.
