Sinn Féin has said that it plans publish new tapes relating to Anglo Irish Bank.
The party says it is in possession of a copy of the recordings - most of which are not in the public domain.
It has sent them to the Gardaí and the Governor of the Central Bank.
Finance Spokesperson Pearse Doherty says the tapes prove the need for a banking inquiry.
"We have also retained a copy of these tapes with my solicitor, with a view to publishing them at a future date," he said.
"As the publication of these secret conversations are in the public interest, the Government must now move speedily to the establishment of a banking inquiry.
"There is a public demand for truth."
