A status yellow rain warning has been issued for Cork and Kerry on Friday.
Met Éireann said there will be heavy rain at times combined with already saturated ground.
They are warning of localised flooding and difficult travel conditions.
The yellow warning is valid from 12pm on Friday to 12pm on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the UK Met Office has issued a yellow rain warning for Co Down.
It comes into place at 9pm on Friday evening and last until 3am on Saturday.
In the Republic, Friday will be largely dry with sunny spells, slowly turning hazy later this morning.
Rain will develop in the southwest by midday and spread northeastwards to all areas this afternoon and will continue this evening.
Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with light south to southeast winds strengthening.
Saturday will be breezy with bright or sunny spells and widespread showers, some heavy or prolonged with hail and with isolated thunderstorms possible. Highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees with fresh, gusty southwest winds.
Met Éireann said it will be generally unsettled with rain and showers at times over the coming week.
Sunday will be breezy with sunshine and further heavy showers. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds at first, veering westerly through the afternoon.
Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees generally. On Sunday night, there will be further showers or longer spells of rain. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees.
