Gardaí have seized an estimated €29,800 in cannabis herb and €3,000-worth of cocaine following searches in two residences in Co Tipperary.

While searching the first residence, in the Roscrea area, €20,000-worth of suspected cannabis herb was found with the quantity of cocaine.

Two men, both aged in their 20s, were arrested at the scene and have since been charged.

Later that day, gardaí carried out a follow-up search at a near-by address, in which a grow house was discovered.

A number of cannabis herb plants, with an estimated worth of €9,800, and drug paraphernalia were seized and a 45-year-old man was arrested.

He is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1996, while the two other men are due to appear before Limerick District Court later today.

Gardaí say investigations into the matter are ongoing.
