A man has been killed following a road traffic collision in Co Donegal on Thursday morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the incident in which a van and a car collided at Ballymagroarty, Ballintra on the N15 at approximately 8am.

A man in his 30s, the driver of the car, was taken to Sligo University Hospital to be treated for his injuries, where he has since died.

A forensic collision investigation has been carried out at the scene and the road has now been reopened to traffic.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

They are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), who were travelling in the area between 7.30am and 8.30am to make this footage available to them.
