A man has appeared in court in Co Kerry tonight charged with murdering a Georgian immigrant in Tralee almost 8 years ago.

A man has appeared in court in Co Kerry tonight charged with murdering a Georgian immigrant in Tralee almost 8 years ago.

32-year-old Badri Khvedelidze was arrested at Dublin airport today following his detention in Spain after a European arrest warrant was issued.

He was remanded in custody after appearing in court in Tralee this evening.

George Tkeshelashvili was stabbed to death in Tralee in October 2005.

The 47-year-old father of one had moved to the town a few months earlier looking for work.
