A man has died from his injuries in a fatal road traffic collision in Offaly earlier this month.

The incident happened in a fatal two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a car and an SUV, that occurred on the R401 at Coolygagen, Co. Offaly, on Wednesday 14th February.

A passenger in the car, a man in his 40s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment for serious injuries, where he has since died.

The driver of the SUV, a woman in her 40s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment for serious injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening at the time.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R401 in the Coolygagen area, between 8am and 9am on Wednesday 14th February 2024, are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
