A 38-year-old man has been remanded in custody following the seizure of a Glock semi-automatic handgun and ammunition in Dublin on Wednesday.
Penggu Song, with an address at Spa Road, Dublin 8, was charged with unlawful possession of the weapon and 12 rounds following his arrest at Tyrconnell Road, Dublin 8, on June 9th.
He was brought to Kevin Street Garda station, making no reply when charged.
Song was held in custody overnight and then appeared before Judge Mark O'Connell, Dublin District Court, on Thursday.
Detective Garda William Wright gave evidence of arrest, charge, and caution.
The accused, who did not address the court, has not indicated a plea.
Defence solicitor Donald Quigley said there was no bail application, and his client consented to being remanded in custody to appear again on June 18th at Cloverhill District Court.
Legal aid was granted after the judge noted Mr Song was unemployed.
