Kenny not in running for EU top job
It's official - Enda Kenny will not be running for a job in the EU.
Nominations have closed for candidates to take over the European Commission as the leader of the European People's Party, and the Taoiseach's name is not among them.
Three candidates are in the running - the former Luxembourg prime minister Jean Claude Juncker, current European Commissioner Michel Barnier, and the former Latvian prime minister Valdis Dombrovskis.
The EPP will choose its candidate at a congress in Dublin tomorrow and Friday.
