Five investors have expressed interest in taking over B&Q Ireland.

However, the troubled homeware chain will have to close it's two loss making stores in Waterford and Athlone with the potential loss of 92 jobs.

It comes on the same day that HMV confirmed that it's Irish stores will not be reopening with the loss of 300 jobs.

Despite the bad news, the Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton remained upbeat about an economic recovery:
