Fire Brigade assist person who was impaled on fence at Phoenix Park

Firefighters came to the aid of someone who was impaled on a fence in the Phoenix Park in Dublin earlier.

An advanced paramedic team got to the scene on Chesterfield Avenue around 4pm this afternoon.

They treated the casualty for a penetrating wound and gave painkillers at the scene before taking them to hospital.

Dublin Fire Brigade says they're expected to make a full recovery.
