An eight-year old boy who was seriously injured in a quad bike accident in Co Clare has died.

Eight-year old accident victim dies of injuries

An eight-year-old boy, injured in a Quad accident in Co Clare last night, has died in hospital.

Ultan Hayes was rushed to Limerick Regional Hospital after the accident and then transferred to Temple Street, where he lost his fight for life this evening.

The boy had been on a quad bike with his 41-year-old father, when it hit a stone wall at 9.10pm last night in Whitegate, Co Clare.

Gardaí are investigating the collision.
