Services at the largest hospital in the north east are getting back to normal this morning following major overcrowding problems earlier this week.
Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda was forced to stop accepting medical and surgical cases at the beginning of the week due to severe pressure in its A&E unit.
Forty people were waiting for admission at the hospital on Monday, including 15 who were waiting on trolleys since last Friday.
However, that figure has now been reduced to six patients.
