Passengers on the Luas Red line are being warned of disruption over the May Bank Holiday weekend due to engineering works.

Trams will only run between Heuston and the Point, with no service to Tallaght or Saggart and replacement buses will be in operation.

A replacement bus service will operate every 15 minutes, serving all affected stops on Saturday.

Further restrictions will be in place on Sunday to accommodate the Dublin City Half Marathon, affecting both red and green line services.

On Sunday, the bus service will be operating to Heuston only.

From 9:45am, the tram service will resume between Heuston and Connolly only to facilitate the marathon finish on Guild Street.

From 2:00pm, a full service will resume between Heuston and The Point.

There will also be no green line service between St Stephen’s Green and Dominick, between 7:00am and 9:30am.

On Monday, restricted Red Line service (Heuston to The Point only) will remain in place until the end of service.

A planned emergency exercise will take place at the Belgard Luas Stop on Monday morning, involving several agencies

Normal service will resume on Tuesday, with passengers advised to plan ahead.
