Representatives of the National Bus and Rail Worker's Union are now meeting to discuss whether to accept an invitation by the Minister for Transport for talks ahead of next week's work stoppage.

Representatives of the National Bus and Rail Worker's Union are now meeting to discuss whether to accept an invitation by the Minister for Transport for talks ahead of next week's work stoppage.

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan issued the invitation for talks on the break up of CIE in a bid to avert further action.

The NBRU is planning to mount another four-hour stoppage, which threatens further transport chaos nationwide on Monday next.

The action may be averted if union representatives agree to sit down with Minister Brennan to discuss their concerns.
