A man has been arrested in connection with an aggravated burglary in Dublin this morning.

Gardaí in Kilmainham are investigating the burglary at a house on Tyrconnell Road in Inchicore, which took place in the early hours of Saturday morning.

At around 1.40am, a man in his late 20s gained access to the house and threatened its resident, a man in his early 30s, with a knife.

The resident was shaken but uninjured following the incident.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Kilmainham Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
