Aaron Brady has been arrested in prison over allegations of witness intimidation relating to his trial for the murder of Det Garda Adrian Donohoe according to the Irish Times.

Brady was found guilty in August of the murder in Co Louth in 2013, being sentenced to life imprisonment last month.

Another man in his 50s has also been arrested in relation to witness intimidation, bringing the total number of arrests made in relation to the matter to seven.

The man in his 50s was subsequently released while a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

“Gardaí attached to the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI) arrested a male in his 20s as part of the ongoing investigation regarding allegations of witness intimidation, perverting the course of justice and the unlawful use of mobile phones in the prison environment related to the recent criminal trial of DPP versus Aaron Brady,” a Garda spokesman said today.

He is currently being held in Portlaoise Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
