The €2,482,715 prize was won with a ticket purchased in the county, however the shop will not be revealed until later this week.
Anyone who bought a ticket in Donegal is being urged to check it for the winning numbers: 4 5 12 15 16 31 and 23.
This is the 91st lotto jackpot win for Donegal, with the totals worth in excess of €118.5 million.
In total, over 101,000 players won prizes last night.
