An investigation has been launched after 17 dogs were seized in Co Wexford last night.

An investigation has been launched after 17 dogs were seized in Co Wexford last night.

The animals were discovered at Rosslare Europort when a search was carried out an Irish registered transporter.

It was booked to board the ferry to Fishguard, Wales.

All dogs were transferred into the care of the WSPCA and the Wexford Dog Warden.

Gardaí said that investigations are ongoing.
