Man films his own panic attack to offer hope to sufferers

A brave man has shared a video of himself having a panic attack to show how real and debilitating they are.

Casey Cahill can be seen in the clip towards the end of one of his attacks which leaves him visibly shaken.

The tearful Casey, from Kentucky, says in the footage: "I just wanted to make this video to show that it's real. I've always been the type of person who says 'you gotta man up, you gotta force your way through it'.

"But that would be like telling a blind person to see."

Casey explains that getting a full-time job recently has sparked a greater number of attacks and says: "My brain is on fire right now, I feel like I'm going to pass out. My emotions are crazy. I have all sorts of crazy thoughts in my head."

Since he posted the film onto YouTube he has been getting lots of messages of support with one viewer writing: "I feel for you."

Another wrote: "Casey... I'm crying myself. I too suffer from anxiety and have panic attacks on the daily. It's really bad and his spiraled out of control. I'm really grateful that there are people out there in this world, like yourself, who are willing to show the world what it is really like to deal with panic attacks. Thank you for being brave. I know this will really help someone."
