Celebrating special moments such as birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations have been a struggle during the Covid-19 pandemic.
As government restrictions are keeping us at a distance from family and friends, people have been getting creative with zoom parties, doorstep surprises, and socially distant get-togethers to help make the day's ones to remember.
One day photographer Katie Kavanagh won’t forget for a while is the day she helped this couple get engaged.
During this pandemic, Kavanagh has been snapping ‘doortraits’ - portraits of people at their front door at home – in aid of Purple House Cancer Support.
After spotting her wholesome photos online, Groom-to-be Ciaran decided to message her and ask her 'doortrait' his girlfriend Hazel on her birthday.
Quickly after she said she was available he let her in on the secret that he was planning on getting down on one knee during the shoot.
Here’s how the moment unfolded:
This is Ciaran & Hazel. Ciaran messaged me weeks ago to see if I was free to do a doortrait for his girlfriend's birthday. When I said I was available he filled me in on his plan to propose that day to make it a double celebration. #covidengagment #lockdownpropoal #engaged2020 pic.twitter.com/ojMc6P6Ujd
