Deliveroo reveals the most popular orders of Irish politicians

Deliveroo has today revealed the most popular restaurants politicians in Dublin like to order from.

The information gathered by the online food delivery company is based on orders to Leinster House, where TD's and Senator's offices are located and Government buildings, which includes the Taoiseach's office and others.

“We’re delighted to be playing our part in keeping the country well fed and nourished during these difficult times, including those in the corridors of power," said a spokesperson for Deliveroo.

Government Buildings

  • WOWBURGER
  • Elephant & Castle
  • Xian Street Food
  • Boojum
  • Umi Falafel

On Merrion Street, the staffers in the offices of the Taoiseach, the Minister for Finance and others have chosen a WOWBURGER, the self-declared ‘Best Burger in Dublin’ to top the Leinster House polls.

Elephant & Castle finds a joint place in the top spot, while Chinese restaurant Xian Street Food, and Boojum, the Mexican burrito specialists, also make the cut.

Finally, Umi Falafel which serves the eponymous middle eastern chickpea balls also makes the list of Merrion Street favourites.

Leinster House

  • Boojum
  • Subway
  • WOWBURGER
  • Bunsen
  • Tuk

Over on Kildare Street, the TDs, Senators and staffers have a preference for Boojum.

Subway has also proven popular with those busy in Leinster House, while burgers from both WOWBURGER and Bunsen remain a dietary staple.

The food delivery service said: "Deliveroo is proud to be supporting Ireland’s restaurants throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and happy to provide our customers with the food they love.”
