TUI to close 166 stores in Ireland and UK
TUI have not yet announced which stores will close.

Travel agent TUI is to close 166 stores in Ireland and the UK.

The tour operator, which has 10 stores in the Republic and 12 in the North, has not yet confirmed which stores it will close.

The company, which merged with First Choice in 2007, has stores in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Kilkenny and Waterford.

TUI UK and Ireland managing director Andrew Flintham said the company will continue to serve customers online and over the phone.

“Customer behaviours have already changed in recent years, with 70% of all TUI UK bookings taking place online.

“We believe Covid-19 has only accelerated this change in purchasing habits, with people looking to buy online or wishing to speak with travel experts from the comfort of their own home."
