Almost half (47%) of Irish consumers are not planning on shopping on Black Friday today, according to a new survey.
The iReach Insights nationally representative survey of 1,001 adults also found that 27% of us are planning on shopping today and 26% of us don’t know.
Stores nationwide have reduced prices today for what has become one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
Of those of us who are going shopping today, only 16% will be shopping solely in-store, 56% will be shopping solely online and 27% of us will be shopping both online and instore.
According to the survey, the majority (92%) of Irish adults shop online, with 61% doing so frequently, 31% not that often.
Some 2% of adults have shopped online once in their life and 6% of Irish adults have never shopped online.
When respondents were asked what they buy online; 70% of those that shop online buy clothing and fashion, 54% of those that shop online buy technology (74% of compared to only 36% of females) and 28% of us buy beauty products online (43% of females and 10% of males).
