UK's first youth commissioner stands down

Britain's first youth crime commissioner has stood down before she has even started.

Paris Brown has apologised for any offence caused by tweets she sent over the past three years.

The 17-year-old denies being homophobic or racist.

Her boss - Kent Police and Crime Commissioner Ann Barnes - has said that she will now be making changes to her recruitment process

"We ran a perfectly normal vetting process that all young people who work for the force go through", she said.

"I will in future look at Twitter feeds and Facebook pages because obviously I cannot let this happen again".
