Update 6pm: Police in Texas say a man who had just been fired from his job at a transportation company fatally shot an employee there before killing himself.

Another member of staff at the building about 20 miles west of Houston was also injured.

Police say they are not looking for anyone else.

Earlier:

Two people have been killed at a shooting at a transportation business in Houston, Texas, it is reported.

A number of others have been wounded.

A lone gunman is reported to have opened fire just as people arrived to work at the Knight Transportation facility in the city.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said it responded to a report of shooting, but was unable to confirm if there were injuries.

It is reported the gunman has been shot, with his condition unknown at this stage.
