Three killed in Swiss shooting

A gunman has shot and killed three people and injured another two in a Swiss village, police said.

A gunman has shot and killed three people and injured another two in a Swiss village, police said.

Officers in the southern state of Valais said they were alerted to the shooting in the village of Daillon late yesterday.

The gunman was arrested after being shot and injured by police. Officers said that when they arrived on scene, the gunman threatened them and they opened fire.

Three of the victims died at the scene and the two people injured were taken to hospital. Their condition is unknown.

No information was given on possible motives for the attack.
