It has emerged that radiation levels at the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan are 18 times higher than previously suggested.

The plant operators TEPCO said they have found new radiation hotspots at four locations around the facility's coolant tanks.

The plant was crippled in the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

They have also discovered a highly radioactive water leak - which has now been repaired.
