Policeman's late arrival delays Pistorius trial
Proceedings in the Oscar Pistorius murder trial were delayed for more than an hour today.
The High Court in Pretoria was waiting for a police photographer who took pictures of the scene of Reeva Steenkamp’s death to continue giving evidence.
Warrant Officer Bennie van Staden was asked by the defence yesterday to produce a disc relating to photos he took inside Pistorius’s home in the hours after the double-amputee athlete shot his girlfriend dead.
The defence also requested the results of gunshot residue tests carried out on Pistorius by Mr van Staden.
The policeman took photos of blood marks, bullet casings and the gun at the scene inside Pistorius’s home after the shooting on Valentine’s Day last year.
He said he also took nine photographs of Pistorius, who is seen in some of the images standing in blood-stained prosthetic legs in his garage.
