A murder investigation has been launched after the bodies of two women were discovered.
The victims were found dead at two addresses in Bootle, Merseyside, overnight.
One woman, believed to be in her late 20s, was found at around 9.15pm last night at a home in Worcester Road, while a woman in her 50s was discovered at about 4am today at a property in Brookhill Road.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said both deaths were being treated as suspicious.
Detective Superintendent Tim Keelan, said: “The investigation into these deaths is at an early stage and, although the motive is unclear at this time, officers believe the offender may be known to the victims.”
Detectives are carrying out house-to-house inquiries and both scenes remain sealed for forensic examination.
CCTV footage of the surrounding areas is being sought.
Mr Keelan said: “At about 9.15pm on Thursday, April 16, a concern for safety call was received about a woman residing on Worcester Road. A patrol attended and a search was conducted resulting in the discovery of the body of a woman believed to be in her late 20s with multiple injuries.
