Mother 'cut throats to keep children quiet'
A woman accused of trying to kill her three small children has told detectives she cut their throats with a kitchen knife to keep them quiet for her soldier husband.
Christina Booth, 29, of Olympia, Washington, said in the police interview that her husband never helped her with the six-month-old twins and the two year old and got “very annoyed” when they cried, according to court papers.
She was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder. Bail was set at US $3 million. The Thurston County prosecutor’s office said she had not yet been formally charged.
The children were said to be in a stable condition after undergoing surgery and have been placed in the custody of the state’s child protective services.
The court papers said Booth’s husband Thomas told police his wife was being treated for post-natal depression.
