MEPs refused access to Gaza Strip

A delegation of MEPs has been refused access to the Gaza Strip by the Israeli authorities.

The MEPs were due to travel to Tel Aviv on Sunday and had planned to visit the Gaza Strip to visit a number of humanitarian organisations there.

Irish Labour MEP Emer Costello said that the Israelis refused them access to Gaza because they claimed such a visit would be an endorsement of Hamas.
