A man has been arrested after a hostage-taking incident at a post office in a Paris suburb today.

A man has been arrested after a hostage-taking incident at a post office in Colombes, a northwest suburb of Paris, today.

He was armed with at least one gun as well as grenades, French radio station RTL reported.

According to reports, between two and five people were taken hostage.

The incident was not thought to be terrorist-related.

Following negotiations with the man, reports emerged that hostages was released and the gunman surrendered to police.

According to BFM TV, nobody was injured.
