Murderer Amanda Knox was back in an court today for a slander trial after accusing Italian police of beating her during questioning over the death of British student Meredith Kercher.
Knox was convicted of murdering and sexually assaulting student roommate Ms Kercher and was sentenced to 26 years in prison.
She denies wrongdoing and her appeals trial in also in progress in the central Italian town of Perugia.
The slander trial is a separate proceeding that stems from Knox’s claims after she was arrested in 2007. She maintains she was trying to defend herself and never meant to slander anyone.
Knox’s lawyer, Luciano Ghirga, said the trial was adjourned until November 15 after a brief hearing devoted to procedural matters.
The appeals trial resumes on Saturday.
