Dozens injured as trains collide in South Africa

Two South African commuter trains have crashed into one another, leaving a train driver critically injured and 20 people with serious injuries.

Another 150 passengers had minor injuries from the morning crash, said Emergency services spokesman Johan Pieterse.

Passenger Rail Agency chief executive Mosenngwa Mofi said the cause of the accident wasn’t known, but that cables were stolen early today, which shut down an automatic signal.
