Dutch brewers have come up with a new product, which allows dogs to join their owners for a beer.

The alcohol-free Dog Beer is made from a unique blend of beef extract and malt, which gives the drink a beer flavour.

A spokesperson for the pooch product said: "For large dogs we would recommend one bottle a day and for things like a chihuahua, well they prefer shorts."

The drink - which was recently launched in Poland - has proved a resounding success among both dogs and their masters.

Canine owner Wiktor Piotrowski explained: "My dog loves it. Now when we go for a walk we can both go to the pub."
