Crowds gather in Manchester to hear Corbyn challenge cuts

Massive crowds have gathered in and around Manchester Cathedral to hear Jeremy Corbyn speak against Conservative cuts.

He was talking in the same city where the Tories have gathered for their annual party conference.

The British Labour leader told the crowds he had a mandate to fight what he sees as severe government austerity.

"In reality it's a political choice made by those who wish to see a growing gap between the richest and the poorest, wish to enrich the richest at the expense of the poorest, and slash and sell off every public service we've got to meet their supposed targets."
