Preston North End player Jermaine Beckford will sign his spare match shirt for a young fan after the boy appeared to have the first shirt snatched from his grasp.
The club said this afternoon: "We are delighted to say that Jermaine is more than happy to sign and present the child involved with his spare match shirt from the game."
The club will also provide a stadium tour for the youngster.
In a statement, the club added that, if the shirt that Jermaine wore were returned to them, they would present that to the child instead.
A clip posted to YouTube appears to show a woman wrestling the shirt from the young fan's grasp. Viewers were already outraged, but when the same shirt appeared to appear later for sale on Gumtree, they went mad entirely.
That ad has been removed and there is no proof the woman herself, named since as Vickie Timbrell, was behind it.
Timbrell, aged 31, has spoken to Manchester Evening News and said she knows the family of the boy and is not at fault in any way.
“People have made me out to be an absolute idiot,” she said. “I will be speaking to the family, I actually know them, they’re friends.”
Timbrell also said: "My side of the story will soon come out."
The club rather emphatically distanced them selves from the people involved saying: "Please note, no one involved in this situation is connected with Preston North End in any way, shape or form."
